One person died while several others were injured when the left rear tyre of a city-bound commuter omnibus came off leading to the vehicle overturning in Msasa along the Harare-Mutare highway yesterday afternoon.

The accident happened at a black spot popularly known as “Eleven Months”.

Police could not immediately comment as Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they were still to receive the report.

‘Holiday road crash fatalities in Zimbabwe drop compared to last year’

HARARE - There were less road accidents and fatalities arising from them in the just ended festive season compared to the same period last year, police said on Monday. In a statement, police national spokesman, assistant commissioner Paul Nyathi said road crashes between December 15 and January 8, claimed 138 lives, compared to 170 over the same period last year.
