A super dad, who claimed to have 42 children, is at odds with one of his wives after defaulting on maintenance since 2014.
Phinias Tafa’s wife Doreen Chapwanya approached the maintenance courts for the upkeep of their child and was granted US$150 per month with effect from November 30 2014.
It was a default judgement after he failed to attend the court.
Phinias is now facing arrest under Maintenance Defaulters in terms of section 23 of The maintenance act Chapter 5:09.
Doreen told H-Metro that Phinias pleaded with her over the matter saying he is unable to look after 42 children he has with different women.
“Phinias told me that I think like a chicken by approaching the courts arguing that he has 42 children to look after and is unable to pay the money ordered by the magistrates.
“He said he is also a victim after his father failed to look after him while he was young and accused me of destroying his business meant to raise money to support the child,” said Doreen.
Contacted for comment, Tafa promised to furnish H-Metro with details after meeting Doreen but could not be reached afterwards as his mobile went unanswered.
“I am aware of the story brother allow me to give my side of the story after meeting Doreen,” said Tafa. H-Metro
