Janet Jackson has reportedly split from her multi-millionaire husband Wissam Al Mana months after giving birth to her first child.

The 50-year-old pop star’s son Eissa was born on January 3, after she married Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana in 2012.

Her recent retreat from the limelight and the postponement of her 2016 world tour were said to be because of her contentment as a married woman.

But a close friend of Ms Jackson told the Mail on Sunday the couple decided it was best to go their separate ways.

The source said: “Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn’t working and to go their separate ways.

“They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart.

“It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London.”

Al Mana is a 42-year-old Qatari businessman said to be worth around $1 billion.

He part runs the Al Mana Family Group with his two older brothers after the trio inherited it from their father.

The group owns more than 50 companies in a portfolio that includes property, cars, construction, retail, food and media.

The singer, Michael Jackson’s sister, was briefly married to singer James DeBarge in 1984 before the pair split the following year.

Her second husband, a Mexican back-up dancer Rene Elizondo, married Miss Jackson in 1991. They divorced in 2000.
