Former drummer accuses Lira of being heartless

South African songbird, Lira has been called heartless via Facebook by her recently dismissed drummer, Joshua ‘J-Star’ Zacheus.

According to media reports, J-Star reportedly said he had been unfairly dismissed by Lira earlier this year after the musician claimed to have received a screenshot of him saying he was unhappy and wanted to quit the band.

Reports say that he disputed the screenshot and had asked the musician to send him the screenshot which he claimed to never have received before taking to the social media platform in the morning, accusing Lira’s team of ill-treatment.

He is said to have gone ahead to claim that Lira had been “heartless” towards him.

However, when contacted, Lira declined having read the statement and said she was not in a position to discuss a private matter on a public platform.

“I cannot comment because I have not read the comments. I am really busy at the moment so I might not read it for a while. But I thought we got along fine and I would expect that if he (Joshua) has a problem with me he would approach me to discuss it.”

However, the former drummer is alleged to have revealed that he felt betrayed having dedicated 12 years of his life to the band.

He reportedly claimed that he was not properly paid for gigs that he had been booked for as well as for the vocal contributions he made to Lira’s projects.

“I have given 12 years of my life to Lira’s brand, missing out on important family time and other projects because I was loyal to it. Me and Lira go way back. We have a personal relationship. But the situation became too much and I need what’s owed to me.” Nehanda Radio
