A Zimbabwean couple appeared before the Wolverhampton Magistrates Court last week after a severely malnourished young boy was taken into hospital.
Nozipho Moyo, aged 21, and her 22-year-old partner Kuzivakwashe Chigariro, of Newhampton Road East, Wolverhampton were charged with causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm and were both remanded to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 11 August.

Chigariro was also charged with assault.
They were arrested after Moyo’s four-year-old son was taken to hospital on Sunday (10 July) with multiple injuries including a broken shoulder.
He remains in hospital where he is recovering well. West Midlands Police
