Protesters working under the #Tajamuka banner and living in South Africa’s Western Cape are on Friday protesting to shut down the Zimbabwean consulate.

Tajamuka is one of the protest groups that recently led citizen demonstrations against an economic crisis, corruption and poor governance by President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF government.
Laswet Savadye, the #Tajamuka Western Cape representative, said the shutdown protest would commence at 11 am at the Zimbabwe Consulate in Cape Town on Friday.
“We are marching to protest our frustration with the government of Zimbabwe and to demand that Robert Mugabe steps down,” said Savadye in a statement.
Meanwhile, a UK-based singer, Tracey Zengeni, is organising a London protest on Saturday in solidarity with the #ThisFlag movement. The protest that will take place opposite 10 Downing Street in London will be held from 10am to 4pm.
Zimbabwe was recently rocked by violent protests in several parts of the country as citizens demanded the immediate exit of Mugabe and his cabinet over failed leadership.
South Africa-based Zimbabweans took up the demonstrations and besieged the embassy. Nehanda Radio
