Miss Zimbabwe Trust chairperson Marry Chiwenga will chair the auditioning process. About 22 girls are expected to attend the auditions.

In an interview pageant spokesperson Tendai Chirau said they are in touch with Miss World pageant and the deadline is nothing to worry about.“We are conducting our auditions at our offices and all aspiring contestants can come provided they meet the requirements.

“Those who missed the scouting process held in Harare and Bulawayo can still come in their best gear for the selection committee.

“Chancers are not welcome and please note we are aware of the deadline for Miss World 2016 which is July 29, but it can be extended.

“The finale has more than 100 countries taking part of which so far around 50 have registered,” he said.

Chirau said they want the best out of the girls hence they took their time.

“If we don’t have the best girls in our final selection, we will not hold the pageant. After we are done with the auditions we will announce the date for Miss World Zimbabwe with other developments to follow such as scouting for designers and hosts among other issues,” he said.

He said the pageant will be searching for girls aged between 18 to 26 years, 1,71 metres tall and slim, single and never married or given birth and should be able to communicate well in English among others.

He said Miss World 2016 pageant will take place in December.

“The grand finale pageant will take place in Washington, District of Columbia (USA) on Tuesday, December 20. By that time we will have groomed our selected queen who will represent the country,” he said.
