Journalist Dumisani Sibanda found dead

Veteran journalist Dumisani Sibanda has been found dead at his Emakhandeni home this morning in Bulawayo.

According to reports Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango confirmed Sibanda’s death.

“We have received a case of sudden death and investigations are in progress,” she said.

Sibanda is a graduate of the Harare Polytechnic Mass Communication Division, a former Bulawayo Bureau Chief for the independent daily NewsDay and also previously worked for the state-owned Sunday News newspaper.

Tributes on social media continued to pour in for Sibanda on Monday.

Fellow journalist Zenzele Ndebele said; “Very sad to hear about the passing away of Dumisani Sibanda, Some called him chief, others called him Sobohla. The journalism fraternity has lost one of its finest cdes.”
