Sungura musician Romeo Gasa last week lost his musical equipment to thieves in Dzivarasekwa. The musician reported the case at Dzivarasekwa Police Station under case number RRB 2717630.

Narrating his ordeal the musician said the instruments that include a combo and bass bins were stolen while being repaired in Dzivaresekwa. The musician said he was hoping the police would apprehend the culprits who have disturbed his career.

“It is disturbing because that was my source of income.

Imagine, we are now forced to hire a PA system which is costly,” he fumed.

He said it was sad that they were forking out more than $100 to hire a PA system for every show.

Gasa has released several albums that have been fairly accepted by fans though he still has to work to convince that he is not a Alick Macheso copycat.

The young musician who comes from Chinhoyi has been staging shows mainly outside the capital.

“My situation has been made worse by these thieves because it is difficult for us to get money that can cover all costs including PA system and transport hiring,” he said.

“Kutanda Botso” singer’s career has not been rosy following his clash with Diamond Studios a company that had offered to assist him.

Since then the musician has been struggling to have his music well distributed, making it difficult to make an impact on the local market.

Although his latest offering “Mupedza Nyaya” is getting fair air play, it has not yielded much for the musician as he is struggling to attract crowds at his shows.
