TB Joshua claims to have foretold Paris Attacks

LAGOS – Prominent Nigerian pastor TB Joshua who runs the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) claims to have foretold Friday’s horrendous terrorist attack on the French capital Paris, two years ago (in November 2013).

Friday’s attacks, claimed by Islamic State militants, hit a concert hall, a major stadium, restaurants and bars in the French capital, killing 129 people and leaving more than 350 wounded.

In typical TB Joshua style, he posted a message on his official Facebook page a day after the attack. The message was accompanied by a video in which he allegedly claims to have prophesied about the attacks in France.

“On Sunday 19th January 2013, during a Sunday Live Service at The SCOAN, Prophet T.B. Joshua gave a word of prophecy concerning the nation, France. This is what he said,

“France as a nation, there is a strange thing they have to pray about which is in their country now. There are some strange people; they have strategic places in France. They should pray against suicide bombers or an attack of any kind that will affect many. Take care of your homeland security. This is France, this time.”

“We pray for the families and loved ones of all those affected by this tragedy in the nation of France. May God strengthen them that their hearts may rise and seek the things above that they may be comforted under the present sorrow.”

Dispute over Prophesy date

A casual check of the date TB Joshua post claims he made the prophesy is quoted as 19th January 2013 supposedly a Sunday. But further checks indicate that the date above was a Saturday.

This would have passed off as a typographical mistake in his Facebook post, but it turns out that the same ‘wrong’ date is quoted in the video above and read by the voice over accompanying the video. What remains to be seen is the explanation that SCOAN will offer to this ‘blatant’ mistake.

Its not the first TB Joshua claims to have foretold a major world event. He claims to have prophesied the terrorist attacks on the Westgate Shopping Mall in Kenya, which killed 67 people in September 2013.

His other prophesies include Michael Jackson’s death, the Boston bombing attacks in America and the outcome of two African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final matches, which were won by Zambia and Nigeria respectively.

Joshua’s purported prophecy about the crash of Malaysian Airlines MH370 several months before the incident also drew international media attention with its accompanying YouTube video amassing over 1 million views.
