HARARE – Top dancehall producer OSKID has parted ways with Kenako Studios based in Borrowdale. The talented producer who was behind many hits at Kenako, revealed on his Facebook page that he is now his own Boss.

He posted; “I am now my own boss, zvinoita mwari zvinoshamisa. I am happy man. Huyai tishande.” However his counter part DJ Tamuka is still with the stable.
Oskid was behind such hit songs like Itai Ndione and Takuda Kumbofarowo on Killer T’s hit album Ngoma Ndaimba. He is also the man behind hits like Gore Rino with the help of Tamuka and Vabereki vangu on Seh Calaz’s debut ablum Bhandit Rebirth.
OSKID is also behind the Fifth Calibre riddim, which features hit songs from Dobba Don, Nutty O, Maggikal and Legion. Several other Zim dancehall artistes like Winky D, Terminator, Kinna and Mostaff among other studios benefited from Oskid’s wizardry.
Sources said OSKID had always wanted to move hence his decision.
“Oskid was always moving to the next stage. He is someone who always wanted to do something for himself. Right now he is in Botswana recording a number of artistes but he says when he gets back he will open his studio in town,” the source said.
The departure of Oskid has however raised questions on whether Kenako will be able to maintain the momentum it had created.
