HARARE – Sex workers plying their trade at Pfukwa shops in Warren Park D have turned Warren Hills Cemetery into a love nest. The hookers in the area have since resorted to using this grave yard for ‘quick’ sessions with their clients.
Though most of the ‘thigh’ vendors do not reside in this area, even those from Warren Park D have since joined the bandwagon, citing convenience.
An H-Metro crew visited this area and spoke to some of the hookers, disguised as ‘ potential clients’ and they were all comfortable with the graveyard as the only available place to Quench their thirst.
“It’s US$5, tongopinda mumakuva umu ndoita zvawada kana uchida kuti ndirare or ndibate paguva. (We can go into the cemetery and I do what you want, either lying on the ground or touching the tombstone),” said one hooker.
A number of sex workers are seen crossing the road going into the cemetery while their ‘catch’ will follow alone.
“Hona vamwe varikungopinda hamutombotyisa. We just do our business and come back, I don’t stay here and I have nowhere to go unless you want to go with me to your place,” she said.
Another hooker, who stays in Warren Park D, says she only goes home with those who want a ‘ one night ‘stand.
“I go to the graveyard with my clients. If you have no business, ibvai pano murikundibhururutsira shiri. Ivo vanhu vakazombokecha vakawanda here? I don’t have time to go home, the cemetery is convenient, and in five minutes only I will be back.
“I only go home with those who pay at least $10,” she said
One of the hookers, identified as Lucy, entertained this reporter.
“This has been the trend for a longtime. Most of these men have no money, ma$3 aya so we cannot go home with them. We get into the cemetery and have a “quick session”, you can go now and see couples dotted around having sex.”
H-Metro visited the graveyard in daylight and used condoms were all over the place.
