Kansiime is currently on a world tour and over the weekend she was in Canada where she reportedly had sold-out shows.

She started her acting stints in 2007, as an undergraduate at Makerere University in Uganda. Kansiime was part of Theatre Factory, before moving on to Theatre Fun in Uganda. On her website, the 28-year-old announced the tour dates.

“We are delighted to announce Zimbabwe tour date by the reigning, multi-talented, multi-award winning top African Queen of Comedy Anne Kansiime as part of the Anne Kansiime World Tour 2015. Anne Kansiime will perform in Harare, Zimbabwe on November 14, 2015.”

Details of how much the show will cost are still sketchy as the organisers are yet to reveal to the media. She will also be touring the UK, Botswana, South Africa and the USA.

Kansiime has worked with Zimbabwean artistes before, including Mathias Julius whose album launch she attended and gave a performance there.

According to an interview on her website, she has always been funny.

“I could always tell a story better when I was younger; I would make it more dramatic than the actual story. Even something like The Titanic, I could twist that love story to be just plain comedy. I used to do that a lot in high school and most of the kids wanted to hear my version of the story. I’d always lie here and there just to make it hilarious.”

The Ugandan stand-up comedian has won several awards including AIRTEL Women of Substance Awards 2014, BEFFTA 2013 (Best Comedian) winner, Lagos International Festival 2013 (Best Actress), Social Media Awards (Favourite Celebrity) winner and African Social Awards Malaysia (ASAM) — 2013.

She was also nominated along with Zimbabwe’s own Samm Monro, (Cde Fatso) for the African Entertainment Awards to be held on October 31 in the USA. Daily News
