Women try to help murder suspect skip country

HARARE – Two women were arrested last week after they attempted to collect travelling documents belonging to on the run Tafadzwa Gwanzura who is suspected of having murdered his ex-lover.

The ladies only identified as Primrose and Ayata are reported to have visited Tafadzwa’s place of residence and lied that they had been sent by a police officer to collect the accused’s documents leading to their arrest.

Tafadzwa (33) is suspected to have murdered Nyasha Mangwende (27) after he caught her pants down with her alleged lover identified only as Munyaradzi.

The landlady, Khadijah Mteka Teka said the ladies came twice with different statements leading her to be suspicious.

“The ladies came asking me to open Tafadzwa’s room so that they collect their belongings and I told them that police had directed me not to open it. One of them was claiming to be related to Tafadzwa’s friend and they wanted to collect his travelling documents.”

“They left when I told them I was not allowed to open for them but they later came back saying police had finished doing investigations. On a hunch, I called the investigating officer to find out if they were telling the truth leading to their arrest,’ Khadijah said.

Meanwhile the deceased ‘s cousin Tawanda Chamunokara said that Nyasha’s body under went a post mortem. “Burial arrangements will be announced soon but the body underwent a post mortem and we are expecting results anytime soon” said Tawanda .

“We have been robbed of a loving sister and her three kids will greatly miss her . We hope that the law will take its course “he added.

Tafadzwa is still at large.
