Musarurwa said he was excited to be working with the dendera icon saying he is optimistic that the single will also open other avenues for him.

“I have always liked the way Mukoma Sulu carries himself, his music and everything and it has always been my wish to work with him one day and this collaboration is actually a dream come true for me,” said the suave jazz artiste.

On the other hand, Sulu applauded Musarurwa for his hard work in the industry saying he is a talented musician with the potential to take afro-jazz to another level.

He said: “We are almost done on the single and it is set to be released anytime from now. It was great working with Prince, he is a hard worker with a vision and something that we cannot take away from him is his talent. It is clear that music runs in the young man’s blood and I am sure with people like him, the future of afro-jazz and Zimbabwean music is bright.”

In another collaboration, the two musicians are set to share the stage on September 25 in London and Birmingham on the 26th. Dubbed the “Gunship UK Tour”, the show will also see dancehall Freeman performing alongside the two artistes. This will be the first time that Musarurwa will be touring the UK and performing alongside big name compatriots on a foreign stage.

“The tour is going to be a show of a lifetime and we are going to perform our duet with Mukoma Sulu,” promised Musarurwa, who shot to fame following his duet with Pah Chihera on the hit song “Runonzi Rudo”. The Herald
