Dzamara family to finally hold abandoned prayer meeting

HARARE – The family of human rights activist Itai Dzamara who was abducted more than three months ago by unknown assailants, said it was finally convening an abandoned prayer meeting this Saturday at the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfields, Harare.

Family spokesman, Patson Dzamara, said the event was being organized by Bishop Ancelimo Magaya of Grace Ablaze Ministries International.

The prayer meeting was abandoned last month following some disagreements between the Dzamara family and church leaders who were organizing the event.

Police also declined to sanction the meeting alleging that it had been hijacked by politicians.

Partson Dzamara told VOA Studio 7 all Zimbabweans were free to attend the prayer meeting.

“This prayer is a prayer organized to pray to God for Itai, so that whoever is holding him hostage might release him,” said Dzamara.

“We still holding on to the firm belief that Itai Dzamara is still alive and as such we are seeking divine intervention.” VOA Studio 7
