Mnangagwa boot-licks Grace

HARARE – Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa was in obsequious boot-licking mood on Wednesday, claiming that First Lady Grace Mugabe is a “queen” and the mother of Sadc and Africa.

Introducing Grace in Kadoma during a ceremony to unveil a housing cooperative, Mnangagwa engaged in obsequious grovelling to the First Lady.

“Your Excellency, the First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe this is now your opportunity to address the people,” the VP said in his toadyish greeting of President Robert Mugabe’s wife amid approving nods from the top table.

“They have heard about you but today they will hear you talk to them. They already want to stand up, please remain seated. She will talk to you, the mother of the nation. We are all her children. She is our mother. She is also the mother of Sadc and mother of Africa.”

As the VP continued brown nosing, the First Lady beamed. The VP said he was happy to be introducing Mugabe’s wife.

“Zvandasimudzigwa pano ndeizvi, ndanzi ndisimudze mambokadzi. Ah, uri kuvona, ndiani ane hama yake yakambosimudza mambokadzi asimudze ruvoko. Simudza tivone kana une hama yakambopiwa mukana wokusimudza mambokadzi, pakaipa.

“Ok, ndini ndoga ndiri pano kwahi ndisimudze mambokadzi, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Pasi nemhandu (I have been asked to introduce the queen, and this honour has only been bestowed on me),” said the VP.

Mnangagwa also said Grace is a hard worker.

“Amai vandiri kusimudza vanoda mabasa, havagariri mawoko, mungaita zvokutohwa nezheve. Dai zvaigona maifamba newomen’s league muchienda kunovona mabasa avanoita, nokuda vanhu kwavanoita (She is a hard-worker and she loves people),” said Mnangagwa. Daily News
