SOUTH AFRICA – They came to hear Prophet Mboro speak but the divine intervention they were hoping for never came.

mboro 2Prophet Paseka Mboro may be a peaceful man of God, but Mboro’s employees, keen to perform their master’s wishes, didn’t have peace on their minds.

Mzwakhe Kubeka (30) from Heidelberg, Gauteng, said when he heard Prophet Mboro was in the kasi he wanted to see him in real life.

But while he was listening to the famous prophet from the Incredible Happenings Ministry in the hall at Ratanda, Heidelberg, Gauteng on Saturday, things turned ugly.

“I heard the prophet telling his guards to beat up noisy people who disturbed the service,” he said.

“Then suddenly one of his guards pulled me from the audience and took me outside. The guards took turns stomping on me. One of them bashed my head on the tyres of a truck.”

He was also hit on the lip with a pistol.

“I was never noisy,” said Mzwakhe. “I was just listening to the word of God delivered by the prophet.”

mboroMoses Radebe (35), a cop, said he took his sick father to the night service. He said he was waiting for his turn to speak to the pastor when he saw a man being assaulted by the guards. When he tried to tell them to take the man to the police station, he was attacked himself from behind by about five men.

“I don’t know the man who was being assaulted. I went to rescue him as a civilian, not as a cop.”

Moses said he also heard Mboro commanding his guards to beat up noisy people.

“I don’t know if I should go to church again or not,” he said.

Fortunate Mbele (36) said he took them to hospital, where they received treatment before being discharged later the same day.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Mboro confirmed the beating. But Mboro denied his bodyguards assaulted the men.

He said he was praying for sick people and some were saying they were healed but a man in the crowd said they were faking it.

“Some churchgoers were angry with the man and they beat him up. I understand the second person was beaten by the same people.”

Senzo Makubu (35), a member of the congregation, confirmed what Mboro had said. “I saw a man accusing the people of faking their healing,” he said.

Police spokesman Major Mack Mngomezulu said a case of assault was opened by Mzwakhe. He said no one has been arrested and police are still investigating. Daily Sun (South Africa)
