The ZANU PF politburo has endorsed the national disciplinary committee’s decision to suspend 39 members from three provinces bringing to 141 the number of officials suspended from the ruling party since October last year.

The suspended officials are from Bulawayo, Matabeleland South and Mashonaland West.
However, to avoid costly by-elections, those who have been suspended and are members of parliament will continue to attend parliament.
The suspensions are linked to an alleged plot to remove President Robert Mugabe from power, inciting violence, undermining Zanu PF and other clandestine activities that are said to not to be in line with the party’s constitution.
Zanu PF secretary for information and publicity Simon Khaya Moyo said the 39 suspended members remained party members but would not be allowed to hold any leadership positions.
“Suspension does not mean that you are expelled from the party…you remain a member of the party but hold no leadership position for the period given,” he said.
Thirty-seven party members were suspended for two years while two others, former Zanu PF national commissar and ICT minister Webster Shamu and Sylvester Nguni from Mashonaland West were suspended for three years.
Those suspended from Bulawayo are Charles Chiponda, Nicholas Mhlanga, Canaan Ncube, Bertha Moyo, Callistus Ndhlovu, Christopher Dube, Elifasi Mashabe, Bheki Dube, Calvin Musuta Noma Mokoena, Methuselah Ndhlovu and Quite Moyo.
In Mashonaland West those suspended include Kindness Paradza, Joshua Chakona, Jackson Chizanga, Dominic Muza, Mernard Waneke, Talent Muduuri, Adrian Musiwa, Steven Karenga and Constance Shamu.
Andrew Langa from Matabeleland South was suspended with other officials who include Jabulani Phetshu Sibanda, Alma Mkwebu, Ndabayabo Ndhlovu, Tafirenyika Seremani, Moses Langa, Jeremiah Langa, Moffat Sithole, Ollen Ncube, Morris Muhambi, Lungisani Nleya, Malachi Nkomo, Alice Dube, Clara Langa, Greater Ncube and Vongai Mpofu.
