Goal takes a look at the weekend results from the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League, which saw Chicken Inn return to the top of the log with victory over Highlanders

In-form striker Edmore Chirambadare produced another match winning performance to steer Chicken Inn back to the top of the Castle Lager Premiership standings after a 2-1 win over Highlanders in Saturday’s Bulawayo derby.
Chirambadare first dispossessed Highlanders defender Felix Chindungwe to set up Canaan Nkomo, who made no mistake from close range in the sixth minute.
The 23-year-old striker then capitalised on a mistake by Highlanders goalkeeper Takunda Mutanga in the second half, to restore his side’s lead – with his sixth league goal in 10 matches – after Simon Munawa had equalised for Highlanders on 35 minutes.
The loss, Bosso’s third in four home matches, saw the Bulawayo giants slip one place down into seventh in the standings with 14 points from 10 games.
Chicken Inn on the other hand, top the standings with 23 points, three ahead of Triangle who lost 3-2 to FC Platinum in a thrilling encounter at Mandava Stadium on Sunday.
Zambian import Obrey Chirwa gave Platinum an early lead with a headed goal off a Raphael Muduwiwa corner-kick in the fourth minute. The visitors were soon back on level terms, thanks to a brilliant individual goal by Hillary Bakacheza.
Triangle then seized the initiative in a pulsating encounter when Lameck Nhamo fired home from a Pascal Manhanga cross.
However, the visitors shot themselves in the foot when Jimmy Tigere beat his own goalkeeper to bring FC Platinum back on level terms.
Substitute Donald Ngoma then sealed all three points for Platinum with a scorching effort past Triangle goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu.
Chapungu’s stunning rise on the log continued after a 2-0 win over Mark Harrison’s troubled Caps United to make it seven matches without defeat for the airmen.
Tineyi Chitora opened the scoring with a simple tap in after 20 minutes, and Gift Phiri made the game safe for the visitors after beating goalkeeper Chris Mverechena with a low shot from the edge of the box in the second half.
Dynamos coach David Mandigora was a relieved man as his charges secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over How Mine at Barbourfields Stadium.
Midfielder Walter Mukanga, an unpopular figure with the team’s fans, scored the all important goal early in the second half to give Mandigora a much needed second consecutive victory which leaves them just three points shy of the summit.
The Dynamos coach was beginning to cut a forlorn figure on the bench after a three-match winless streak which saw a section of the club’s supporters questioning his effectiveness. Goal.com
