Chelsea win premier league title

LONDON – Chelsea have won the English Premiership title after a 1-0 over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge today. A controversial penalty by Eden Hazard was enough to see the Blues over the line.

“Unbelievable,” Chelsea captain John Terry said.

“We’ve worked so hard to get there. It was a little bit nervy but we’ve done it. One person said I couldn’t play two times in a week. Who knows who he is? I’ve proved him wrong. I’ve been ballboy here, I’ve been mascot, I’ve painted the stadium.”

Terry finished on a classy note, sending his condolences to Rio Ferdinand after the loss of his wife, Rebecca Ellison, on Saturday.

It’s Chelsea’s fourth Premier League title and their third under Jose Mourinho.

Following his latest triumph, Mourinho now averages a trophy every 34 matches as a manager.

Since taking charge of Porto in 2002, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ has swept all before him – both domestically and in European competition.
