HARARE – Controversial Zimdancehall artist Dr Clarence has just released a new song calling for the arrest of South African President Jacob Zuma for failing to deal with the xenophobic violence that has seen several foreigners killed.

The track titled “Sungai Zuma – Arrest Zuma” also blasts the hypocrisy of the western world for placing targeted sanctions on Zimbabwe for alleged human rights abuses and yet the same countries are remaining silent when hundreds of foreigners are being killed in horrific xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

A few weeks ago Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini reportedly called on foreigners to leave the country at an event. He has since accused media of distorting his comments.

Wide-scale looting erupted across Durban’s townships on Monday night as tensions fueled by anti-foreigner rhetoric boiled over.

In KwaZulu-Natal, the attacks on foreign nationals and the looting of their shops started in Isipingo outside of Durban a week ago and have since spread to KwaMashu, Umlazi and Chatsworth.
