Senzo Meyiwa’s killer may have been one of the people inside the house

SOUTH AFRICA – Police are investigating several eye witnesses who were inside Kelly Khumalo’s Vooslorus home the night Senzo Meyiwa was shot.

Police detectives involved in the investigation told City Press that discrepancies in one of the statements issued by an eyewitness in the house have led to police exploring the possibility that no armed robbery took place that day.

According to the one detective: “I can assure you that a witness who was there during the shooting will soon be taken in for questioning and possibly be arrested thereafter.”

Police are also following up on an eyewitness who said he had lied about the events which took place that night.

It is believed that one of the witnesses who include Khumalo, her sister Zandi and her boyfriend Longwe Twala, mother, Ntombi and Meyiwa’s close friends Thoko and Tumelo Madlala will come forward about what really occurred that night.

“The other thing is if it is proved that there was no robbery, [anyone] who lied in their statements could be arrested and charged for defeating the ends of justice,” said one detective. TimesLive.co.za
