Young Warriors brace for Morocco friendly

The Young Warriors set in motion preparations for Saturday’s friendly international encounter with Morocco by engaging in a morning workout at the ZIFA Village before their departure yesterday.

The U-23 side assembled for camp on Wednesday evening and held their only training session on Thursday.

All 13 local based players called into camp reported for duty before the team’s scheduled departure.

Foreign based players: Kudakwashe Mahachi, Munyaradzi Mbanje, Marvelous Nakamba, David Moyo and Macauley Miles Bonne are all scheduled to join their colleagues in Morocco.

Callisto Pasuwa’s charges face a stern test when they clash with Morocco but the gaffer is positive his charges will hold their own against the North African giants.

Pasuwa will have an opportunity to look at players such as Nakamba, who turns out for Dutch topflight side, Vitesse; Mbanje of Leeds United; Northampton’s Moyo and Miles Bonne, who plays for Ipswich Town.

Zimbabwe and Morocco are both using Saturday’s encounter to prepare for the All-Africa Games and Olympic Games qualifiers.
