Dendera musician Douglas Chimbetu launched a ghost album at a much-hyped show recently. It has emerged that the new project is still in the studio.

The musician launched the album “Southern Letter” at Mbare Netball Complex two weeks ago with several artistes ,including the Chimbetu family, gracing the event. The album is still not available on the local market.
Diamond Studios artistes manager John Muroyi said the musician launched an unfinished product.
“We were just told that he launched an album but the truth is that he had not finished recording and I still have to check with the producer if he has finished mastering it,” he said.
Muroyi said efforts to summon the musician to discuss the issue were fruitless.
“We told him to come to our office on Monday but he did not come. We are waiting for him to come so that we can map a way forward,” he said.
Chimbetu insisted that the album was ready but he wanted to mislead pirates.
“The launch show was just a strategy to mislead pirates but the album is now ready,” he said.
Pressed further the musician said he had some issues that he wanted to solve.
“We just have to finalise one or two things but the album is ready and I don’t know why the guys at the studio are saying that,” he added.
This is not the first time the musician has taken his fans for granted. Previously, his promised DVD could not be released and he accused his recording stable of breaching the contract. The Herald
