The Sunday Mail Editor, Edmund Kudzayi and his brother, Phillip, charged with trying to unseat a constitutionally elected government through the mysterious facebook character, Baba Jukwa, appeared in court on Monday for their routine remand.

Edmund and his co-accused brother face allegations of plotting insurgency, banditry, sabotage and terrorism against the government, in the run up to July 31 general elections.
The pair, who appeared before Magistrate Tendai Mahwe, will be back in court on September 1.
Prosecutor Farai Gatsi alleged that Edmund connived with his elder brother, Phillip, and hatched a plan to unsettle the government unconstitutionally.
According to court documents, Kudzayi planned and organised with some of his accomplices calling themselvesThe Gunda Nleya Brigade and Zimbabwe Revolutionary Army, to overthrow the government by ‘unleashing war’ and urged people to join the Zimbabwe Revolutionary Army.
It is alleged that Edmund posted articles on the Baba Jukwa Facebook page, which reportedly encouraged rebellion against the government if the July 31 general election were to be ‘rigged’.
He allegedly created a Gmail account, [email protected], with his brother, Phillip and other accomplices still to be apprehended.
Aided by the account, the brothers and their accomplices still on the run allegedly posted articles on the social networking platform to the effect that they had a Dare Rechimurenga in place and that a team was on the ground, studying and monitoring the situation in Zimbabwe.
Edmund also faces charges of not ensuring that his ammunition, recovered by police at his house, was properly secured.
The pair is out of custody on bail, granted by a High court Judge last month.
In their last court appearance, the state highlighted that given the circumstances of the matter, they were not ready for trial yet.
Most recently, Information minister Jonathan Moyo and minister of Environment, Water and Climate, Saviour Kasukuwere, were quizzed by police detectives in the capital in connection with the case. The Zimbabwe Mail
