Week 12’s biggest tie will no doubt be at the giant stadium when eternal rivals Dynamos and Highlanders lock horns.

Despite losing some of its glamour, the DeMbare-Bosso tie has remained probably the biggest league match in the country and supporters of the two Zimbabwean giants insist they wait for the encounter with curious enthusiasm.

Sunday’s encounter has some interesting facts major among them, the absence of Dynamos’ trusted goalkeeper George Chigova who has now relocated to his new home at Supersport United in South Africa.

After receiving a rude welcome with a 1-nil defeat to Hwange over the weekend, Dynamos’ Artwell Mukandi will find himself thrown into the deep end and is expected to swim and save the day against an inform Highlanders.

It is a fixture that disregards current form and with both teams bruised after dropping points last weekend, a fertile ground has been laid for potential fireworks in Sunday’s tie.

Recent history also shows Dynamos have usurped dominion in the Battle of Zimbabwe and Highlanders have perennially attempted to break the jinx but in vain.

It’s a clash that also invokes a regional debate on who is the better in football between the north and southern region.

Battle lines are being drawn and come Sunday, attention will be temporarily shifted away from the World Cup to the Zimbabwean battle with all intent set on seeing who will claim the bragging rights of dominion come Sunday 5pm.
