MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has told his political rivals that relentlessly snooping around his love life and continuously talking about his stay in what critics call a “Zanu PF house”, will not turn around the free falling economy.
Tsvangirai was addressing mourners at the funeral of the late MDC-T chairman for Mashonaland West Japhet Karemba in Chitomborwizi, Zvimba. He said the reason why he was being targeted was because he was the “man with the ball”.
“The problem is not Tsvangirai. Can you say Tsvangirai is the problem and Mugabe is not? How can you make an effort to say where are his girls, where are his women to smear him. Smearing Tsvangirai will not bring food on the table.
“Why forming a roundtable, Zanu PF this side, MDC the other side [his detractors], that won’t bring Sadza to the table. Why target Tsvangirai?”
“If I wanted to sell out I would go to Mugabe and say give me this and that. I said I will never do that, others say he is in a Zanu PF house. (But) I won’t sell out because of a house, l would rather go and stay in Buhera but the struggle will be intensified until final victory,” Tsvangirai said.
Tsvangirai, who was recently hospitalised over an undisclosed ailment, accused his political nemesis of wishing him dead. “They wanted to make sure that I die. Why be that cruel?” he queried, adding that God had a purpose for everyone.
