Chihuri collapses at pass out parade

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) chief Augustine Chihuri collapsed during a pass out parade for new recruits at the Morris Depot in Harare Thursday morning.

According to reports Chihuri collapsed while standing next to President Robert Mugabe and was immediately taken away on a stretcher.

It took paramedics about thirty minutes attending to him before he returned to the parade. We understand Chihuri was attended to by Dr Douglas Mombeshora who is also minister of lands.

The police chief reappeared later and casually retook his seat as if nothing had happened.

Speaking to the state media in an interview after the graduation ceremony Chihuri is said to have “apologised to President Mugabe fellow service chiefs, ZRP officers and the nation at large for the mishap.”
