Sulumani Chimbetu has fired his recent recruit, an ex-convict, after he reportedly stole from other band members. Sulu had recruited the dancer identified as John Cena, who was released via the Presidential Amnesty.

Sulu introduced John Cena to the public during the 21st Movement Gala which was held at Gwanzura Stadium in February. One of the insiders at Orchestra Dendera Kings said after the former jailbird was roped in, a lot of property which belonged to fellow band members started going missing.

“That ex-convict was fired after band members complained about his behaviour. Many people started complaining after he joined the band. We later realised that he was the one who was stealing and we complained to Sulu and he eventually showed him the exit door,” said the source.

John Cena also refused to give his full identity to the band. He was reportedly travelling with a bag with his belongings and was refusing to divulge his place of residence. Orchestra Dendera Kings publicist Joe “Local” Nyamungoma confirmed that John is no longer part of the band.

He said they had given ‘John Cena’ time to sort out his private life and that the doors are always open for him.

“He is not with us at the moment not that he was fired but we have given him a chance to sort out his private life. He needs time to reconcile with his family and we have agreed that he does so. Doors are open for him to return,” he said.
