Philip Chiyangwa’s divorce to Elizabeth Juma could be finalized in the coming weeks and the businessman has wasted no time in splashing out US$25 000 in bride price (roora) for Mati Kanoyangwa, one of his many girlfriends.
Mati, a member of the apostolic sect was recently married off to Chiyangwa during a traditional ceremony graced by Chiyangwa’s brother Raymond and a close friend only identified as Mpofu.
The entourage paid $25 000 to Albert Kanoyangwa.
We understand Mati was staying with her grandmother while waiting for Chiyangwa to complete buying a mansion for her. Chiyangwa has also paid an undisclosed amount of money to help open up an online business for his lover.
Plans for the wedding are in progress as soon as his divorce goes through. Elizabeth, his wife of 25 years filed for divorce in November last year. She stated in the divorce petition that Chiyangwa was associating with several other women and the marriage had irretrievably broken down.
Meanwhile Chiyangwa is set to splash out on a birthday party for his one-year-old daughter with Kanoyangwa. The party will be at the Meikles Hotel on the 10th of May with Rooney’s hired to take care of the decorations and tent. Chiyangwa has already bought plane tickets for Kanoyangwa’s mother and sister to fly from London to Harare.
