Debuting the sound in her single Parere Moyo, Munyavi draws on traditional rhythms from East and West Africa fused with the local urban beat.

The new sound is expected to dominate her forthcoming album, Music, Vocals, Cindy.

Her publicist, Michael Shoko, told The Zimbabwean that the music songbird had ventured into new territory to please her ever-increasing fan-base across the continent.

“Music has become a global consumption and Cindy as an artist sought to explore new rhythms borrowed from Africa. This is because her music brand has grown beyond Zimbabwe and she has to appeal to the increasing fan-base,” said Shoko.

The album, from which three singles have already been released, is expected to carry between 15 and 18 tracks.

The first two singles have been complemented by spectacular high definition videos and are receiving an overwhelming reception from music-lovers.

Shoko added that Cindy’s third project will be launched in Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania where she now commands a good following.

The songstress has risen to become one of the most active female vocalists, superseding other talented female musicians such as Betty Makaya and Tererai Mugwabi of the Waenda fame.

She is no newcomer to the continental stage, having collaborated with top African acts such as 2face Idibia, Bongani Fassie and Ishmael. She has also shared the stage with internationally recognised stars, such as Sean Kingston, Beenie Man, Akon, Sean Paul and Touch of Klass.

Cindy also performed at the Big Brother Amplified eviction show in May 2011 and has a host of awards and nominations.

She won the 2012 Victor Award for Sounds of the Future Zimbabwe and the 2013 National Chamber of Commerce Award for Women in Enterprise, as well as four National Arts Merit Award nominations, one Zimbabwe Music Award nomination and one Zim Dancehall Award nomination. The Zimbabwean
