Professor set for UK and Ireland tour

South African artist, Professor has been causing much of a stir in the Southern African community in the UK. Not only is the buzz about his recent success with his singles, but, his tour to the UK and Ireland on the 3rd and 4th of May (Beautiful War Tour).

He will be accompanied by the young and talented DJ, Heavy-K. They have worked together their most popular single, Beautiful War, Produced by Heavy K which topped the charts for a while in South Africa. They will arrive with the supporting artists DJ Mngane (AmaVolunteer) and Character (X Ongasolveki). Also performing on the night the kasiluv’s own BEFTTA award winning Dj Mkhukhwini and Dj Zenzo.

Professor is a South African kwaito artist (part of the duo of Tzozo & Professor) whose 2010 solo record, “University of Kalawa Jazmee” (Kalawa Jazmee Records) was certified gold as of December 2010. “Jezebel”, the lead single off the record, was a smash hit on South African radio stations.

The same album got him 4 awards at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) in 2011. His most recent album, ‘The Orientation’ released in 2012 also created some waves through the singles such as, ‘Finger Prints’, ‘Thando’, ‘Baphi’ only to mention a few.

He has also collaborated with fellow Kalawa Jazmee artists to produce hits, like the current song of the year 2013, ‘Ytjukutja’. His work always has people on the floor, dancing the night away. Even his last visit to the UK in 2011 was a sellout event with sparkling reviews from attendees.

Heavy-k is one of the founders and a composer for the notorious Dj/Producers group ‘Point 5’; he has contributed a number of hits for Point 5 tracks such as the SAMA award winning track called ‘Lento’ by Professor and Speedy, ‘Izizwe’ (Remix) by the late Busi Mhlongo, ‘Planet 5’ and ‘My PE’ that came out of Dj Vetkuk vs Mahoota’s compilation called the ‘Diamond Series 1’.

He is also part of the forever growing Kalawa Jazmee family. His 1st album (Respect The Drumboss) released in 2013 drew much attention and even won an award at the Metro FM Music Awards for the Best Dance Album 2014. Heavy-K’s talents and focus does not just stop in music, as he is much involved in the empowerment and education of the youth in the Eastern Cape.

He serves as a role model all round, this UK and Ireland tour is just another box to tick on his list. Heavy K seem to be making a crossover to the Zimbabweans with his most popular song ”Wena” featuring Mpumi. He is predicted to be the next big dj/producer to come out of South Africa following the footsteps of Black Coffee.

It is no secret that Kasiluv is a non-profit organisation striving on the education and empowerment of Southern African artists.

Their most recent recruit, Bekka, will also be performing at the event on the 3rd and 4th of May.

She is a very talented vocalist born in South Africa with Zimbabwean origin and her performance is not one to miss. Adding icing on the cake will be the most talented vocalist on the horizon Relo a young South African artist based in the UK just released an Rnb single on iTunes ”crazy over you” making waves in BBC radio across the UK.
