Mannex together with 12 of his band members were involved in an accident after a show at Richwood Sports Bar in Meyrrick Park where he was supported by the Bootkin Klan.

The Toyota Hiace kombi they were travelling in was involved in a head-on collision with a Land Rover along Simon Mazorodze Road.

“The accident happened at Simon Mazorodze Road Fly-over and I am happy that no one died.

“I was referred to Baines 24 Hour Emergency Clinic where my leg was treated and the doctor told me that it needed two to three weeks to heal,” said Mannex.

Other band members were rushed to Harare Hospital while others were taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

Meanwhile, Mannex has already composed a song to warn drivers to exercise caution while driving.

“I suspect the driver of the Land Rover was under the influence of alcohol because he deliberately encroached into our lane, therefore as an artiste I have composed a song titled Don’t Drink and Drive which urges all drivers to exercise maximum caution on roads and to avoid alcohol,” he said.

The song is expected on the market soon, moreover Mannex is currently working on a comeback track with Bootkin Klan of Tsamba fame which is meant to revive the group. Daily News
