Following a Chan campaign in South Africa that ended on Saturday with them finishing as the fourth best team, the Warriors would be treated to some celebrations soon after arriving.

They were edged by Nigeria 1-0 on Saturday in the third and fourth place play off.

It was a campaign where Zimbabwe for the first time reached at least the quarter finals of a continental competition.

They are expected to touch down at Harare International Airport at 2100hrs and Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela said a party would be held at a local hotel.

“The national team deserves due recognition because no they came close to claiming the trophy itself. Hard work got them to that stage and as Zifa we applaud that. We urge fans to turn out in their large numbers and give the Warriors a heroes welcome,” Gwesela said.

A row over winning bonuses however threatens to spoil the party. SuperSport.com
