A CHIKANGA man was left for dead after being attacked by two robbers who disappeared with his brand new vehicle and $450 cash.

The incident happened last week along Nyakamete Industrial Area.
Mutsitsiro Douglas (35) of house number 2600 Chikanga Phase 2 was attacked by two armed robbers who made good their escape with his vehicle and cash.
It is alleged that Mutsitsiro parked his car near Kapjack parking space along 2nd street in Mutare. He was approached by the two who asked him to drive them to Rose Wise garage to collect their vehicle.
Manicaland police spokesperson, Inspector Enock Chishiri said Mutsitsiro turned down their request saying his car was not registered for hiring.
He said the two robbers gave him $10 but he refused and later offered him $15. They begged for his assistance saying they were running out of time.
Douglashe finally agreed and drove them to Nyakamete. When they approached the Rose Wise garage, the robbers ordered him to stop his car. They grabbed him from behind and one of them took his car keys and drove the vehicle.
“He tried to scream but the other robber who was at the back hit him several times with empty bottles. They tied his legs with safety belts and his hands with shoe laces. They drove the car towards Bvumba Road.
“After travelling for about 11 km they stopped at a bushy area. They searched his pockets and took his wallet which had $450 cash. They also took his Nokia cell phone, clothes and left him in his boxer shorts,” said Insp Chishiri.
They disappeared with his Raum vehicle (ACV 8090).
The car was later recovered along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Road after being involved in an accident. The same robbers took $150 from Barbara Moyo who stays in Masvingo after they had offered her a lift in the stolen car. Manica Post
