Kudakwashe was rushed to Holme Clinic where he was treated for head injuries and discharged on the same day. Edina Mabwaja, 34, is reported to have been invited by Zacharia Sithole who is believed to be her boyfriend to be the first to drive his new commuter omnibus without her husband Zacharia Matewu’s consent.

It has been established that both Edina and Sithole are not licenced drivers and they are both married. When H-Metro visited the scene yesterday Kudakwashe was still in shock with his head bandaged while his mother Betty Jam, 41, narrated the ordeal.

“I was shocked to hear that the house was damaged some minutes after I left home and my son had sustained head injuries,” said Betty.

“My furniture was also damaged and we are living in fear because the house is now shaking and no action has been taken so far and we haven’t received medical assistance.

“My children no longer have enough space in the house following the destruction of one of my bedrooms because of the accident and the woman happens to be my neighbour,” said Betty.

Edina CONFIRMED driving the vehicle without a learner’s licence after she was given the chance by Sithole.

“I do not know what exactly happened since it was my first time to drive a car as I only found myself inside the house,” said Edina.

“Zacharia was teaching me how to drive his new car and my husband was away and he is not my lover. Ndinongomuti bamunini and he shares the first name with my husband. I do not know his surname.

“I am prepared to pay for the damages done and police officers are still investigating the story waiting for Kudakwashe’s medical report,” said Edina.

Edina’s husband Zacharia Matewa told H-Metro that the driving lessons were conducted behind his back and he was only informed some minutes after leaving the house.

“It happened within five minutes after I left home and I was not aware that Sithole was coming to conduct driving lessons with my wife,” said Zacharia.

“I know him as a neighbour but both of them never communicated to me about their driving lessons until the accident. I will help the affected family on behalf of my wife,” said remorseful Zacharia.

Neighbours were irked by Sithole’s motive for conducting driving lessons in the high density area risking people’s lives.

“Kuitira zvavo zvechihure muzere vanhu after seeing that her husband had left the place. That is so disgusting,” said one of the residents.

Sithole was not in the neighbourhood and was reported to have visited Mvurwi to repair his vehicle following the damage of the windscreen.

“I have a driver’s licence but Edina is the one who does not have one and the boy got injured while he was trying to escape from the room,” said Sithole in an interview over the phone.

He could neither deny nor confirm cheating with Edina promising to furnish us with more information tomorrow.

“I will tell you tomorrow since I am busy right now. I will call you brother,” he said before hanging the phone.

Reports were that the two have been having an affair for a while behind their spouses’ back and Sithole is believed to have lured Edina with a fleet of commuter omnibuses he owns. H Metro
