HARARE – Rachel Ruto, the wife of Kenyan Vice President William Ruto jetted into Zimbabwe on Friday to meet prominent preachers, Prophet Uebert Angel and his wife Prophetess Beverly Angel in Harare.
Nehanda Radio understands Mrs Ruto, a close friend of Angel’s wife will also use the opportunity to attend the Spirit Embassy organised two day ‘Flair Ladies Colour Conference’ which is a gathering of women from across the globe.
Mrs Ruto is the first high level Kenyan visitor to Zimbabwe for some time now. In September this year Kenyan Vice President William Ruto hosted Prophet Angel at his official residence in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. Angel who turned 34 at the time was thrown a surprise birthday celebration and cake by Ruto.
Only last week the son of Swaziland’s King Mswathi, Prince Lindani, and brother to the King, Prince Sivukelene, attended the three day ManWorld Convention at the City Sports Centre in Harare which had been organised by Prophets Angel and Emmanuel Makandiwa.
These high level visits have motivated Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi to push for a religious tourism policy which seeks to tap into the popularity of charismatic prophets within the country. Mzembi stated that religious tourism would now be one of the ‘major branches’ of the industry.
