Soon after the visit Prophetess Angel was quoted saying “When you come into contact with the needy it is not enough to just say, go well, be blessed. The first Lady Amai Mugabe has done exactly what the bible tells us to do.

“The bible says that true religion is not seen in just those words but in a profound desire to help backed up by the actions to turnaround the situation the needy are under.

“This great vision of helping the less privileged is exactly what me and my husband have always sought to do through the various charitable activities we are engaged in through the ministry’s charity arm, Hand of Mercy,” she said.

President Mugabe’s family has vast interests in Mazowe including an orphanage, a state-of-the-art learning institution, Amai Grace Mugabe Junior School all run by Grace Mugabe and a dairy company, Alpha and Omega.

While the orphanage has gone some way to spruce up Grace Mugabe’s image, the family have been criticised for the manner in which they kicked out 11 small-scale miners occupying 22 hectares of land along Mazowe River to pave way for the expansion of the Mugabe family business.

According to reports the small-scale miners and 50 families at the site, were given six days to vacate the area which was immediately declared a high security area because of its proximity to Grace Mugabe’s private school, orphanage home and her dairy company.
