BULAWAYO – Reigning Zimbabwe football champions Dynamos put behind their recent poor form to beat fierce rivals Highlanders 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo to go back on top of the Castle Lager Premiership.
An 88th minute penalty from Ocean Mushure ensured that Dynamos top the log standings with 48 points, the same number as Harare City but with a superior goal difference. Highlanders are now third with 47 points and have now failed to beat the Harare giants in seven consecutive years.
The build up to the match pointed to a Highlanders victory. Before the match Bosso were and are still the league’s best attacking team, having scored 40 goals in 25 matches, five times better than Dynamos. But somehow the Glamour Boys pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat to win away.
