RUSAPE – Zanu PF official and self confessing adulterer Albert Nyakuedzwa is allegedly traumatising his wealthy ex-girlfriend Loveness Nyamundanda by refusing to surrender back property entrusted to him during the consummation of their illegitimate affair, accusing her of having superstitiously sacrificed him to enhance her empire.

Nyakuedzwa – a former campaign manager for Presidential Affairs Minister Didymus Mutasa and Agriculture, Irrigation and Mechanisation Minister Joseph Made – who together with seven other henchmen were in 2009 convicted on a charge of culpable homicide for the murder of war veteran Tina Mukono – is holding onto a brand new ML Mercedes Benz, a fully furnished house and a yet undisclosed amount of money, among other niceties.

Nyamundanda, who was head and heels over had invested heavily into the relationship to marry-off the charismatic Nyakuedzwa – who in 2004 was also jailed for assaulting another war veteran, James Kaunye after challenging Mutasa in Zanu PF’s 2004 primary polls for Makoni North constituency.

Little did she know that she was playing into the hands of a gold digger, who only had created the relationship for material benefit.

Nyakuedzwa, who still enjoys strong connections with Zanu PF strongman Mutasa, now accuses the businesswoman of sacrificing him to enhance her growing business empire that includes hardware shops, night clubs, bottle stores, grocery shops, garages and several houses in Rusape and Mutare.

An irate Ms Nyamundanda on September 4, at around 2300hrs, allegedly stormed the house that she had built as a love nest with the cunning former Zanu PF DCC chairman, demanding her property back – but Nyakuedzwa signaled his wife Happiness Mafuratidze Nyakuedzwa – whom he had served with divorce summons at the insistence of the jilted businesswoman – to rush to the place to weaken the aggressive mogul.

Nyakuedzwa’s legally married wife interestingly also sired two children with Mutasa and she recently took the matter to Mutasa – who then summoned his “political son” and read him the riot act.

In a bid to further embarrass the businesswoman, Nyakuedzwa blew the lid off the adulterous relationship with her by approaching the court seeking protection against the widow. Nyakuedzwa (43) made the application for a protection order against the businesswoman in terms of Section 9 of the Domestic Violence Act (Chapter 5: 16). The application was made at Rusape Magistrates Court – number DV 113/13.

The order was granted on September 11 by Mrs Elizabeth Hanzi. The interim order granted by the court orders Nyamundanda not to threaten the complainant, to stay away from House Number 765, Castle Base, Rusape, not to approach or enter his workplace cited as 2471/2472 Village Pamusha Food Pot and Forkington Farm in Nyazura and not to remove property or take any property from the complainant.

The interim order shall remain in force for a period of five years unless earlier revoked in terms of the Act, but the two are expected in the civil court on September 26 where the jilted businesswoman is expected to show cause to the court why the final protection order should not be issued.

“I am the applicant in this matter,” wrote Nyakuedzwa, “and the respondent and myself were lovers for a considerable length of time. “The relationship resulted in me having a very strained relationship with my wife (Happiness Mafuratidze-Nyakuedzwa) when she found out about the affair. As a result, I decided that I should stop the relationship in the interests of my marriage and children. This did not go well with the respondent.

“The respondent has been coming to my matrimonial home, 765 Castle Base, Rusape where she harassed me and entered into my house threatening me and my wife and even took some of my property. “I had to report to the police of the incidents of the night of September 4, 2013 when she came to my house and started shouting and threatening me and my wife. The respondent has threatened to follow me at my workplace at 2471/2472 The Village Pamusha Foodpot and at my Forkington Farm in Nyazura.

“In the circumstances, I seek this court’s protection by imposing a peace order against the respondent so that she is interdicted from coming to my matrimonial house and my workplace or my farm. I have no other remedy other than interdicting the respondent from coming to my home and work places. Wherefore, I pray for an order as per draft. In addition, I pray for protection interim because she continues to phone me and sending other persons to phone me.”

The interim order gives police powers to arrest Nyamundanda if there are reasonable suspicions that the respondent has committed, is committing or threatening to breach it, the intention being to protect “the complainant from serious or substantial harm, discomfort or inconvenience (whether physical, emotional or economic).”
