Chinotimba transformed the sombre atmosphere at the Kangai homestead into a wedding or church-like gathering, as the fiery speaker, who is also a media favourite, left everyone in deafening laughter with his daring antics where he mimicked the popular Zanu-PF Bhora Mugedhi election theme.

Chinoz, as he is affectionately known in political circles, gave exciting sermons quoting biblical verses that left everyone asking for more. Clad in a black suit while standing akimbo, Chinotimba took everyone by surprise when he took to the stage, singing one of Kangai’s favourite songs — Urimo here muZanu.

“Nhasi izuva rekufara kunyangwe ukanzi ndiwe wakauraya usatsamwa,” he said.

“Tiri muhondo musafunge kuti takange tisinganamate. We were dangerous preachers in the war.” Chinotimba said he was mentored by Kangai.

As tribute to the departed hero, he donated 400 litres of paint to repaint Ndyarima Primary School, Kangai’s former school.

“Ndiri kukupai paint iyi through Kangai,” he said. “Dai zvisi izvozvo handaimbokupai.”

Chinotimba challenged other MPs from Buhera to work hard to transform lives of ordinary people in the area.

“Gore rino hakudyiwi rinopisa. We want these roads to be refurbished and Marovanyati Dam should be completed. Support Zanu-PF, drink with Zanu-PF and eat with Zanu-PF,” he said. The Herald
