Chaos rocks Jah Prayzah Chi-town gig

A handful of angry music fans that turned out for Jah Prayzah’s Moonlight gig in Chitungwiza turned chaotic after the musician failed to turn up last Friday night. Police officers had to intervene after the fans demanded their hard earned cash back.

Jah Prayzah was supposed to perform at the club but he did not turn up. The management announced at midnight that the 26 year old entertainer was no longer performing as his car had developed a fault on his way to the venue.

Jah Prayzah’s manager Mabla 10 broke the news to the fans who failed to take the news lightly and started demanding their dues. In a separate interview, Jah Prayzah’s manageress Filda Muchabaiwa gave a contradicting explanation, “Ma-one Jah is not feeling well since the beginning of the week.

We thought he could recover but he failed, he is having a serious headache and is at the Avenue Clinic,” she said. Mother Filda, as she is known in the music circles, eventually phoned Patson Chimboza of Chipaz Promotions who was reported to be the show promoter.

Chipaz also told reporters that Jah Prayzah was not feeling well and they were taking him to hospital. However, there were claims that the show may have been abandoned after the promoters noticed that it was a flop, with less than 30 paying fans.

Some Jah Prayzah fan’s mobbed around the 3rd Generation kombi intending to trash Mabla 10, one of the managers. Police details later intervened and advised fans to return to the bar so that they could be refunded their money.

Jah Prayzah allowed himself to be used by Zanu PF during the election campaign period, performing at several campaign rallies. Many people in the industry have warned him that this will negatively affect his career given Mugabe’s party’s reliance on violence and murder to remain in power.
