This concept is quiet clear that the approach that has been used to explain this verse has been misplaced and misinterpreted. This presentation is going to touch on different aspects of why we go to church as believers and why do we worship the Almighty.

1. Many people go to church these days to seek riches and most gatherings be it in church or other congregational gatherings have become so dominant with the people who are seeking relevance through the so called blessings and it’s very difficult to get someone who priorities the spiritual aspect.

Hence we are missing the concept now because if we go to church expecting material blessings only and not seeking the lord first that’s were we are saying this has to be corrected. People must go to church with Christ in mind first and whatever Christ does for them after it’s an after thought but what is important is to seek him first.

2. Many people in life have different frustrations people have no food, financial challenges, people loosing jobs, world recessions and out of desperation they rush to these gatherings with high expectations of receiving blessings only to be disappointed after a while because they will be no positive outcome sometimes.

Most charismatic preachers have taken advantage of the desperate people to con them through the name of Christ and most have found those gatherings as a way of earning a living and yet the most important thing is to focus on Christ and his mission that is to save humanity from it’s sinful nature.

Most preachers have capitalized their message on riches and they have become the centre of attraction by attracting large number of gatherings of which I feel personal with Christ’s assurance in the bible if people seek his face and he will create a new heart within us and all things shall be added unto us (Matthew 6:33).

3. These churches becoming forums of making money or fellowship? This is a serious concern have we lost focus as believers or there are people who are manipulating the church systems by taking advantage of desperate believers and were are we going as a world?

For instance Zimbabwe is one of the countries with the largest number of prophets who can bless people and at the end Christ is not on the map they put themselves on the map. Some people have taken advantage of people s situations and gatherings and looting and apply super natural powers from the so called fathers so that they will make money out of those miracles.

Actually in all the services it’s all about miracles and healing no adequate time for devotions of which I personally feel more time should be committed to devotions so that our lives can be redeemed through his blood. Salvation has nothing to do with material wealth, whilst I appreciate that God can bless this we can not deny the fact but let it be according to his will but it should not be our priority(material) let it be a secondary thing.

4. We are missing the concept it’s all about money, riches, healing so were is Christ? let’s call a spade a spade let’s redirect our focus on his mission to seek ye first the kingdom of God.”….were is our saviour whom we are suppose to be glorifying and at the end we become shadows of Christ, of which we are supposed to be directing all the glory to a and honor, dominion, savior, majesty, and this will serve the purpose of worshipping and fellowshiping.

If you have a close analysis in Christ s ministry he would have an itinerary of his events and he would visit different places but if you analyze you find that most of his time was committed on teaching and emphasizing doctrinal messages not healing and performing miracles.

Let’s have a look on the issue of feeding five thousand, he perfomed a miracle but he did because there was need and he had to address it because people were hungry. If you follow his ministry and all events carefully you will find that it was not miracles all over.

5. The devil is so cunning to the extent that he uses the issue of prosperity as a way of attracting people. Imagine if those gatherings it was made explicit that it will be purely teachings and devotions how many people would come and follow those places.

Let’s have a correct mind set when we are approaching this subject of prosperity, let’s focus on our minds on Christ, if he wants to bless us materially let him do it out of love.

6. The issue of prosperity has a blanket cover such that we no longer see Christ but we see money all over as if pastors, preachers, prophets we have power to unlock prosperity at the end people will end up following us not God himself and his focus is not prosperity but righteousness.

After people have acquired all those worldly things marriages are collapsing, crime rates are very high because our focus is on human aspect to satisfy the flesh wheareas Christ s mission is to deal with the moral part.

Can I pose a question, how many business people and rich people are committing suicide? People who have everything but their end is disastrous why because morals issues need guidance from God.

7. I feel the following subjects should be taught strongly in our gatherings; salvation of mankind, inspiration, second coming, sabbath, state of the dead, prophecy of Daniel and revelation I tell you we will never be the same again.

8. The issue is not about debates but correcting the mindset and blessings they are good for us but our priority is seek ye first the kingdom of God all things shall be added unto us. Blessings come in many ways breadth of life, gift of life, food etc remember to thank God for all the little things he has done for us.

I’ve seen many coming to church so that they can be blessed and when they get what they want you will never see them again. We starve the spiritual side. Some have gone to the extent of getting disappointed after failing to acquire those things because their mindset is full of riches and prosperity.

Let’s focus our minds on Christ
