Old as he is, Zimbabwe ‘s current President, Comrade Robert Gabriel Mugabe, no longer has the energy to run the country. This he knows very well, and in the last few months, he has publicly acknowledged his old age.

Many people would have then thought that he should pass on the button stick to a younger colleague in his party to contest in the forthcoming Presidential election. If he knew that there is an electable colleague within his party, he could have stood down.
But he knows that all the comrades in his party are not presidential material, they do not have what it takes to run the Zimbabwe , and they are not the people’s choice. He therefore sees himself as the best that is available from Zanu PF to contest in the elections.
Fortunately for Zanu PF, the new constitution, which, as admitted by the other parties who took a leading role in the process to come up with the constitution, is the best that could be achieved under the circumstances, allows the ruling party to replace the president in the event that the post of president becomes vacant.
Mugabe and Zanu PF’s plan, therefore, if to try their luck with Mugabe as candidate, and in the unlikely event that he wins, he resigns because of old age and passes on the button to anyone agreed on by his party.
So Zimbabweans, to put in your vote for Mugabe in the coming election is to vote for someone you don’t know, because Mugabe will not last a year in office if he is elected. Why not vote for a devil that you know. I am not telling who to vote for, but restrict your choice to any other candidate other than Mugabe.
But most importantly, make your vote count, vote for the person with the greatest chance of beating Robert Mugabe, because he has to go.
Mugabe’s time is up. Thirty-three years of ruining the country’s economy is enough, we need a new Zimbabwe . We need a New beginning. Vote for Change! We want change now! We want a leader who is capable of firing corrupt ministers!
Mugabe was hinted of his ministers who tried to seek bribes from South Africa by former President Thabo Mbeki, and what did he do with that information! He is too tired and too old and does not have any more energy to fire his corrupt ministers. He must go by 15 August 2013.
