Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC party has started a voter registration campaign in South Africa where officials say they “will be painting South Africa red with posters urging Zimbabweans to go home and register to vote.”
Over 1,000 posters have been erected in Hillbrow, Yeoville, Braamfontein and surrounding areas. Phase 1 of the exercise saw officials distributing over 10,000 posters in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Polokwane, Musina and Border Gate.
Nhamo Chikowere MDC-T SA Secretary told Nehanda Radio that Phase 2 of their campaign will be utilising “electronic media resources to cascade the message to all Zimbabweans in the diaspora to go home and register to vote.”
