Allan Chimbetu set to dump Suluman?

HARARE – Dendera music exponent Allan Chimbetu has reclaimed his Orchestra Dendera Kings (Central Committee) amid reports that he might part ways with Suluman Chimbetu.
The talented choreographer made a shocking move in May last year when he joined Suluman Chimbetu leaving the band in the hands of his son Douglas. Madzibaba Allan, as he is affectionately called, has two shows lined up this week an indication that he might have parted ways with his nephew.
He will be performing at Club Matute in Mbare on Thursday before staging another show at Pensau on Sunday. Reliable sources informed us that Allan is in the studio working on his album which will be released anytime soon.
Allan could not pick his mobile phone when contracted for comment but his manageress Abigal Kuleya confirmed the development. She however, denied that Allan has officially parted ways with Suluman.
“Yes we are having shows this week, at Club Matute in Mbare on Thursday and at Pensau on Sunday. But this does not mean that Allan has left Suluman, nothing like that has yet happened,” Kuleya said.
“They are still together and these shows are only there when Suluman has no shows,” she said adding “Allan is father to Suluman, Tryson and Douglas and is there to help them. Even if he sees the need to join Tryson I don’t think anyone can stop him.”
“When Allan joined Suluman, he did not give up and it was something in his plans to start having shows. Actually he is still in the music industry on his own,” she said.
Asked on whether they are going to work together with Douglas, she said: “No; Central Committee has many band members and some of them are not even playing for Douggie and they are the ones who will be used by Allan.”
However, there are reports that Allan owes his manageress an undisclosed amount of money and these shows are meant for compensation.
“No I don’t know anything about that. I am his manageress and we don’t operate that way. We are just having normal shows, Allan is an artist,” she said. H Metro
