CHITUNGWIZA – Orchestra Mberikwazvo assistant manager Jatiel ‘Jethro’ Machanja has dumped his wife of nine years. The 40 year old Machanja is reportedly cohabiting with Tracy Dube in Zengeza 3 after dumping his wife Ellen Savanhu, 37.
A distressed Tracy confirmed Machanja’s shenanigans saying he only terminated their relationship after the band’s recent tour of South Africa. “I am no longer with Jethro; he ditched me and it was over the phone,” said Ellen.
“Differences arose after the death of his brother as he accused me of bewitching his brother. I could not attend the funeral leading to him to call his girlfriend from Bulawayo to attend the funeral.
“His girlfriend was introduced to mourners and relatives and from that day they are staying together in Zengeza 3. I looked for alternative accommodation after he left me with an eight month old baby and another one doing grade one.
“As we speak, I am now living with my mother in waterfalls and I only meet him at Aquatic Complex on his pay day to get money for children.
“His superiors (William Tsandukwa and Alick Macheso) tried in vain to settle the differences and they are aware that he is staying with his Bulawayo bred mistress in Zengeza,” said Ellen.
When H-Metro visited Jethro in Charumbira Street where he stays with Tracy, news of Jethro’s new love was awash in the suburb.
“Jethro wekwa Macheso aenda kutown manjemanje nemukadzi wake,” said one of the tenants at the house. Jethro confirmed that he was on separation with Ellen but could not dwell much into the issues.
“We had a misunderstanding over some issues and we failed to agree leading us in to agree leading us in to separation. As for the girlfriend, that must not be mentioned. Let’s leave it like that.
“We are engaging our elders over the issue and this afternoon I was with my wife,” said Jethro. When H-Metro visited Tracy Dube at her Zengeza house she confirmed that she was staying with Jethro before referring all questions to him.
“Yes I am aware that Jethro is at logger heads with his wife but Jethro is the one to comment over that. I informed him of your presence and he is unable to speak to you right now because he arrived today from Botswana and is resting.”
