LONDON – Thousands of Zimbabweans based in the UK will now be able to watch films from Zimbabwe on Sky TV (channel 232) courtesy of a deal between Klear TV and Zollywood who promote and distribute Zimbabwean films.
Confirming the deal Tony Mliswa from Zollywood told Nehanda Radio that Zimbabwean films will be screened by Klear TV every Monday at 8pm and repeated the following day at 1:30am.
“So far they have aired ‘Neria’ (22 April), Lobola (29 April) and Monday (6 May) Sores of Emmanuel. On the 18th of April Klear TV did a Zimbabwean Independence Special with highlights from the Zim Cup Clash,” Mliswa said.
“Zollywood are building a relationship with Klear TV that will hopefully propel the Zimbabwean film industry to be recognized not only by Zimbabweans but other African countries. They will get to know more about our culture,” he said.
“At the moment you can watch the films online as pay per view or digital downloads via our website www.zollywoodzim.co.uk. The money goes back to the filmmakers so that they can keep producing more movies,” he added.
