Something is totally strange with our politics. In the past SADC has made resolutions which President Robert Mugabe and Zanu -PF have refused to implement either by playing delaying tactics or simply refusing to play ball.

The last resolution made in Maputo which stated clearly that Prof. Welshman Ncube was a Principal of the GPA and thus must be involved in all GPA deliberations has not only been ignored and trashed by Mugabe and Zanu -PF but by Morgan Tsvangirai and the MDC T. This is a fact.
What makes all this interesting is that after failing to adhere to SADC resolutions, Tsvangirai is hopping from one SADC member state to another ostensibly to complain about the non -implementation of GPA agreements. This to be honest is plain silly and embarrassing.
Tsvangirai has quite clearly failed to exhibit an understanding of how SADC works. He thinks that the body whose resolution he spat on with regards to Prof. Ncube’s status will now listen to him and grant him some imagined favors.
Someone must call him back and tell him that sadly for him SADC already knows that he has been cohabitating with Mugabe and Zanu -PF behind the regional block’s back and visiting the heads of states as he is doing is an embarrassing attempt to shut the stable when the horses have bolted and that come the meeting of the double Troika which was requested by Prof. Ncube’s MDC he will see the meaning of being caught with his hand in the cookie jar so to speak.
If Tsvangirai was genuinely interested in implementation of the SADC resolutions, he would have insisted that Prof Ncube be there when crucial decisions were being made because that is the only way implementation would be done.
For him to go to the same SADC and expect them not to point him back to the same roadmap which he continues to violate by appointing Zanu -PF’s Patrick Chinamasa and Eric Matinenga from his party to decide on election date, clearly pointing out that to him, the roadmap only exists between MDC –T and Zanu –PF, is puzzling. By slapping Ncube in the face they are actually slapping SADC in the face.
The MDC is in no doubt that as diplomatic parlance will require, SADC will seat him on comfortable couches, serve him tea and take smile filled pictures with him, but when it comes to decision time they will point him straight back to all the resolutions on which he has been helping Mugabe not to implement.
It is therefore clear to anyone who understands diplomatic interactions and maneuvers that if Tsvangirai is globetrotting in pursuit of the feel good effect, then he is up for a rude awakening when the Troika finally sits.
